Sideline Logo Posts displayed at the League meeting.
Logo posts recently displayed at the League meeting are now on sale. Sets of posts and cordone can be used to provide the 3m wide spectator exclusion zone around the pitch side on match days. They can be quickly installed and dismantled as demonstarted at the meeting.
At present 'Classic sets' (unbranded) and 'Logo sets' (branded) are available.
As a special thankyou to the GJFL for its support, the Logo Posts owner, Darren Spencer, has kindly decided to offer a fully printed logo post with full colour club badge, completley free, for those GJFL clubs who are finding it difficult to attract sponsors, and therfore have to pay for the complete set themselves.

Community Sponsorship Partners (CPS)
A presentation was recently made to the Management Committee by David Stow of CSP who offered to “buy” our League Fixture List in exchange for a royalty fee over a 2 year period. These fixtures would be given to CSP on a monthly basis and they would be compiled into ‘an easy read format’ large colour poster together with the League’s logo and other relevant F.A. and Charter Standard marks. All printing and design work would be completed free of charge as CSP would recover their costs (and profit) by obtaining sponsorship and advertising from local companies which would then appear as a surround to the fixture lists. It was calculated that approx 72,000 would need to be produced over the 2 year period and these would distributed by CSP at their cost to all of our member clubs. The Committee deliberated and agreed to the offer. We aim to have the first issue of fixture lists ready for for distribution in January 2008 at which time the League will receive the royalty. MINI SOCCER - GOAL KICKS
There appears to be some confusion on how goal kicks should be taken within the small-sided football games.
Goal kicks should be taken as per 11-a-side football. That is; a dead ball kick off the floor from within the penalty area when the ball has been out of play as per Rule 24/10J. If a goalkeeper picks the ball up in open play within the area they can kick it out of the hands, off the floor or it can be thrown, again as per normal 11-a-side rules.
FA Law 16, within the GJFL Rule Handbook, states the distance that any opposing player must be when a goal kick is taken, as the rule above.

GJFL AWARDED CHARTER STANDARD LEAGUE STATUS
It was back in 2004 when the well known motor mouth and stalwart grassroots soccer coach, Steve Bray of Prospect Juniors, stood on the floor of a League meeting and asked the assembled membership and Management Committee, "Has anybody ever heard of Charter Standard Leagues?"
It is now 3 years later and the Management Committee are delighted to announce that the Garforth Junior Football League has now been duly awarded the Charter Standard League status by the West Riding County Football Association.
The management committee is indebted to Steve and each and every club that voted unanimously to embrace the Charter Standard programme and pledge to do the hard work, dedication & commitment required of clubs and volunteers to attain Charter Standard Club status.
The Charter Standard Scheme sets minimum standards of coaching, administration and child protection for all GJFL clubs and represents a major step forward to improve the playing experience for the children and youth players that the League serves.
The challenge now facing club volunteers, parents, coaches and players alike is to ensure best practice on paper transmits to become best practice in training and on match days. The Management Committee has every confidence that the League's Clubs will meet this challenge. |
